Learn More About Single-Coated Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives

Throughout the pharmaceutical and medical industries, medical adhesives are used for a broad range of applications.

One of the multitude of products manufactured at DermaMed Coatings Company is the single-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive.

There are actually a variety of pressure-sensitive adhesives including self wound tape, transfer adhesives, and double-coated tapes.

But single-coated pressure-sensitive adhesives also have their uses.

A single-coated pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is just like it sounds – a tape where only one side is adhesive.

Single-coated tapes are only coated in adhesive on the webstock, or facestock, side of the tape itself. And single-coated tapes are typically protected by a silicone-coated release liner. The release line is then discarded after use.

Single-coated tapes vary from double-coated tapes in that adhesive is applied to two sides of a carrier, which can be made from numerous materials such as plastic films. A double-coated tape is protected by a release liner that has a silicone-coat on both sides.

Regardless of which tape best fits your company’s needs, DermaMed is capable of manufacturing any sort of medical adhesive. Visit our products tab for more information.
